It would fit well on a Spectrum game, and I presume not very difficult to code, wouldn't it? (I played it this evening in a shopping mall for the very first time -really!- and I got 1,832 points!
)

The hardest bit will be writing the spectranet code and the trouble is not many people own one. Hopefully Ben will get his production run underway soon...
... obviously the game would require a spectranet otherwise how would it be able to tell whether or not your internet connection was down

Funny you should mention that. I was thinking about a Spectrum conversion myself... then
Sophia II stepped in.
Might be an idea for the future.

As you go further you realize it's more interesting than expected: night stages (as in Deathchase), other enemies like birds... It becomes something really addictive!
