Drawing on a curb is something like writing with a pitchfork on the water
Another "masterpiece" based on Escher.
But I like it Draw frames and patterns, or sometimes test programs.
Moreover, the creation of a border sometimes takes many times longer than the main picture.
There are three options in the archive - for the Pentagon, and for 48 \ 128.
There is a very big difference in the code between them due to contended memory and differences in the construction of the border

Well, then let there be the first part, drawn 7 years ago for the Pentagon.
Modified for 48 \ 128, of course not quite as for the Pentagon, but as much as possible, similar to the original.
Both parts are in the new archive.
By the way, on the new clones of the Harlequin there will be a difference in the picture compared to the classic models
But it is unlikely that anyone will run it on real hardware., And in emulators it should be "equally equivalent"
B&WLM.

Re: A bit of borderline creativity :)
Very cool.
I can't get the first download to work, and in the second one, only the pentagon version has the right timings (in SPIN0.666). Can you make the 'archive ready files' available please
Re: A bit of borderline creativity :)
The second link in the archive contains everything that was in the first link.
But I can't edit the first post.
Now for the emulators.
I check all my crafts in the Spectaculator and in SpecEmu - everything in them is as the author intended
I did not find the ZXSpin0.666 version, but in the more recent version 0.7 it shows correctly.
Picture under the spoiler.
Spoiler
From this we can conclude that Spin may be a very good emulator, but not the most accurate one

In one of the adjacent topics, they discuss drawing a spiral in BASIC.
I remembered that I once also drew spirals, one might say I started with them. Here is the very first one, maybe I won't find the code, I just found a picture
To the second spiral, the file is
Well, the third, one might say also a spiral
of these three, only the last one can be modified under 48\128, the first two are exclusively for the Pentagon.

Re: A bit of borderline creativity :)
On the border, you can make a creeping line. This has long been known. On the Pentagon clone, it is somewhat smoother and more beautiful, but on zx48 \ zx128 it also looks quite good.
The picture shows three emulators running simultaneously in zx48, zx128 and Pentagon mode.
Again, this is not so simple, they all have different timings and different building of the border.
Well, AY sounds have been added to make it not so boring to watch.

p.s. You can add a picture to the screen according to your own taste, I have not thought of it yet

There's an utility to generate this kind of rotating messages in the upper border:
https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/2 ... m/Rotatrix
It was used in this game:

Re: A bit of borderline creativity :)
Just a few words on how to draw on the border
It is very easy!!
"Reproduction" of a painting from a very famous DEMO. In the original, an automatic conversion was most likely done, but for me it was drawn anew, pixel by pixel, or rather, it looks more like folding a mosaic or puzzles. 4 years ago I made a gif, do not waste the good

Re: A bit of borderline creativity :)
I was checking the latest version of the emulator and came across a border picture that I drew last year.

And this I "plagiarized" a little.
I really liked the font
