Crikey...

Some people's abilities to recognise graphics in not-so-popular games is pretty impressive.

We should rename this game from "Guess the screen$" to "People trying to guess the screen$ while Pobulous gives the right answer" :D

It makes me think of how many years of playing games this would take. If it was paid I'd be ok with making a living from it. Or do it like this guy who got rich digging gold.

We need to all just start playing every game in the archive intensely now. Given the average age of us here, "Guess the SCREEN$ - retirement edition" is going to be pretty competitive... :)

There's plenty I don't recognise.
I did play an awful lot of budget and compilation games back in the day, and some graphics do stick in your mind.

How about this - where have you seen this before?

I have no earthly idea where I've dredged this memory up from as I've not played the game in 35 years. I think I might just recognise Mark's graphic-style.

Wizball.

If I'm right, feel free to jump in as I've got to go and prepare for a class in a few minutes.

Ok but I wouldn't call it retirement - given the recognition abilites we possess (or going to acquire) we should make a business from it.

You are correct - I tried to throw everyone off by choosing the image from later in the RZX where it had been coloured in!

How'd they manage to make Kickboxing look like Advanced Jackson Pollock Simulator?

That picture screamed isometric, Firebird, and beat-em up - but I had to search to find it cos I couldn't remember the name.

Anyhow, how about this one - it's just about the only nice graphic in the game:

When I first saw this, I thought it was going to be a cool end of level boss to brighten up a very uninspiring game.
But no, they just blew the whole art budget and a good chunk of memory on the sodding exit door.
And, to top it all off, your chap doesn't even walk through it - the level dissolves as he approaches.
