Speccy games with demo mode

Post by beanz »

Was trying to think of some Speccy games that had a rolling demo mode, you know kind of like FA18 Interceptor for example on the Amiga, where you could just sit back and watch it play itself.

Manic Miner, sort of..shows you the screens at least.

Any others anyone can think of?

Dingo has a proper one.

I think Mr Freeze and Loony Zoo do the screen gallery thing.

Skool Daze springs to mind.

Trying to remember different ones:

Androids - https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/index.php?cat=96&id=197
Stop the Express - https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/index.p ... 96&id=4916
Gilligan's Gold - https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/index.p ... 96&id=2047
Daley Thompson's Decathlon - https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/index.p ... 96&id=1217

Also Xadom - https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/index.p ... 96&id=5770
has an "Attract Mode": the game starts to rotate between the instructions, some random rooms and an alternate presentation screen

Don't know if what I'm doing is a bad thing, but this came to mind:

And that's how you know you spend too much time on Spectrum forums.

Well now I know what "Attract Mode" is, thanks Bruno...I've been wondering that when I see it for raspberry PI downloads.

Curse Of Sherwood's demo mode wasn't the game being played by the computer, but just brought up a few screens of the playing area without the main player. You got to see the world you'd be playing, with the baddies marauding about.
