Re: Guess the screen$
My answer to anything that’s green and black is always Grand National — and I was right once, so let’s try it again.

Looks to me like a racing game, and a fairly basic one at that.
Chequered Flag?
[Edit: seconds after the new pic - it's definitely not Chequered Flag...]

I thought earlier that those might be cabers, and came up with World Games - but I couldn’t find any footage of the caber-toss level in action. So… World Games?!

I was going to say Shockway Rider, but the colours are wrong...
Re: Guess the screen$
Its a budget game from a big, well-known publisher.
But despite that I don't think any of the three mags reviewed it, which has surprised me. YS did a preview though and it ended up in their tips section. It has a type in cheat where you type MONEY FOR NOTHING. Its not too obscure though.
It's a multi-eventer and very much inspired by another game which had a well-received Speccy arcade conversion (which was initially good but ended up awful).

Raw Recruit!
I did not expect a game accompanied by Tim Follin's music to have no reviews, but I now see that it is.

Re: Guess the screen$
While looking for the previous screen I thought it might be this one, also a multi-parter:
Re: Guess the screen$
I saw that too while looking.
I think it was Geoff Capes Strong Man

yeah it's odd. I mean it was Mastertronic, 1988 and I bought it in a shop here in the UK, so it wasn't exactly obscure. I wonder if it's just that Mastertronic never sent out review copies but I would have thought that a lot of budget games didn't and so magazines would just pick up retail copies.Stefan wrote: ↑Thu Jun 15, 2023 8:08 am Raw Recruit!

Also, not Tim's best tune but certainly a bit of an epic!

Re: Guess the screen$
Dragons Bane is usually a good guess if there is a black background, but in this case I'm gonna guess Swords and Sorcery?
