It's an arcade conversion. Pitfall is close, in a way.

Ok, another easy one, I hope.
Beautiful game btw, smooth and polished...
you have to steal everything you can from several households, jumping from platform to platform and avoiding the defenders of law, order and property

No, its not Gotcha.
It's also arcade platformer, but much more advanced, with top graphics and super smooth animation.
Each level is a static screen, which needs to be cleared to move on to the next one.
One of the best Spectrum budget games, for sure.

I've never read any review but I'll throw something in.

No, this is a classic platformer, let's say similar to the Gotcha which was mentioned before, but this is a well-known game, highly rated here on SC.
Also, this isn't some modern homebrew title, I'm only considering games from the classic Spectrum era.

Yes, of course, well done.
I thought it would be easier.
Your turn.

Ya indeed well done!

I've just checked the Wriggler reviews, and @Spud himself makes quite a statement about it!
Let's be frank about this for a moment: This is one of the greatest games on the Spectrum, isn't it?

Ok, ok, here I go!
"The weaker parts are the first and the last - the first being a boring exercise in keypressing, the last an annoying phase where you have to hit the cooling robot from behind with some bouncing explosive disks. The game fares much better in the intermediate shooter sections"

Re: Guess the game from the review (Spectrum 2.0)
Let's see...
"Looking at it now, the only attraction is the large smoothly scrolling sprites. However this is ultimately only 7 frame animation, and Manic Miner had that.
Playing the rest of the game, there is only an illusion of depth. To travel around the faceless city requires much plodding, and unless there is a map handy then it is very easy to pass by an essential shop because the door is on the other side to the direction you are facing in."
