Devfinitive Edition (Derek Brewster): vote
Last week I played Curse Of Sherwood for the first time in years. And completed it. Alright, so that was with an infinite lives POKE. Anyway, that'll be my choice (and I've been biased as it's the first computer game I ever bought and it's genuinely good so there).

Need a "None of the above" option here - I didn't like any of them that I tried back in the day, and I wasn't missing anything with the those that I didn't try.
I loved reading Derek's adventure game section in Crash and perhaps that makes me judge Kentilla a bit harshly - I expected more when I picked it up on budge re-release.
It gets the nod as the one I played the most, even if I didn't get very far.

Velnors Lair
I don't have anything cool to put here, so i'll just be off now to see a priest with yeast stuck between his teeth and his friend called Keith who's a hairpiece thief...

Codename Mat II is such an undervalued game. The original received lots of accolades in the the magazines, the sequel came along and although it improved on the original game, it got fairly average reviews (81% in Crash, though).
It’s definitely one of the best Star Raiders type games on the Spectrum.

1 Star Trek - because this is the game that it turns out Atlantis' Vagan Attack (one of my most played games ever) was ripped off from wholesale...
2 Velnor's Lair
3 Codename Mat II

1. Codename MAT - The Spectrum's first great space sim
2. Codename MAT 2 - A worthy sequel but the genre had moved on so much in the meantime
3. Velnor's Lair - An early text adventure spiced up with some RPG mechanics
Jasper and Kentilla score honorable mentions. The later games seem competent enough but don't really do that much for me.

It's "Mission: Alien Termination" and that's how I remember it.
I'm sure he could have come up with another T from somewhere if he'd wanted it to be MATT though.

Codename Mat has won this one, with 7 votes.
In second place, we have The Curse Of Sherwood, on 4 votes.
Third placed is Jasper, with 3 votes.
Kentilla and Velnor's Lair are in joint fourth place, with 2 votes each.
And in joint fifth place, we have Codename Mat II; Con-Quest; Star Trek and Starclash - 1 vote each.
Meanwhile, my personal favourite has topped the proportional vote!...

I missed this one but would have voted for Velnor's Lair. Curse of Sherwood was also really good. But the best thing he did was the Adventure Column in Crash. I love reading through that.
Kentila was reviewed in Crash by someone else in the interests of impartiality.
It scored 10/10

Well, as you may see in the discussion phase of the Derek Brewster poll, there were certainly some highly negative Crash reviews for his work!
