I normally start in Windows File Explorer because it lets me find a game very quickly, and I can right-click any file (some of which might be my own snapshots) and open it in an emulator of my choice (I don't always use the same emulator).

Full Tosec collection for me, always up to date and left as is... Thats on my NAS and RomVault keeps that sorted for me.
Then i have a manually filtered subset of all the TOSEC stuff sorted into named folders. Any new games that come out over time will go into these folders too.

This subset is what i'll add to Launchbox (on a 2nd PC just for emulation, hooked up to big TV) or copy over to my MiSTer (also hooked up to big TV). Both of these (and the NAS) are on the network and controllable from my main PC so i can copy whatever wherever whenever. I am a very tidy boy too, new downloads are always renamed and tidied to where they should live immediately (most of the time).

TOSEC SET - 4.3GB - 97,137 files
CUSTM SET - 157MB - 2,609 files
I don't have anything cool to put here, so i'll just be off now to see a priest with yeast stuck between his teeth and his friend called Keith who's a hairpiece thief...

I can post my portable linux OS (DebianDog frugal install) with my spectrum programs to see how I am working.
In the past I was planning to release a similar system as a bootDVD/USB but then windows make installing boot loaders a pain. This problem is almost solved now with LICK.
Spoiler
I see 2 to potential issues :
1)Adding an entry in windows bootloader. This is actually quite easy with https://github.com/noryb009/lick/releases . You just run the lick-cli.exe and select the option to istall bootloader. Worst case scenario is that you won't see the boot option.
2)Copyright issues (snapshots are mostly from old WOS site). I have seperate files with the games ( about 2GB in total) but I can only send link with private message...for testing purposes.

The main zipped file is 2.8gigabyte. I can share all the files from my new lifetime host prismdrive*

If you manage to add the bootloader then everything else is just download and copy. That is the beauty of puppy-linux/DebianDog.
Please LIKE this post ONLY if you are interested in trying my system. If I see interest I can create a new topic with some instructions and the main links.

Spoiler
*Prismdrive costs about 40-50euros lifetime for 2TB. If you want a service 100% available stay away. Also, it's build in upload system is SLOW. I made a php script that uploads through their API and its VERY fast.
