I was playing Ollie and Lisa the other day and though ' This would be a really great game if only you could jump higher'. The fact that you have to do almost pixel perfect jumps with such a large character makes the game incredibly frustrating. I like the game, but, it could have been a great game if they'd just made the jumping easier. I know people will say 'Well that's the challenge of the game' but for me it just makes it frustrating.

Slapfight would have been great if you could only see the bullets, and the ground wasn't as busy.
Oh yeah, Operation Thunderbolt would have been great if you could only have crosshairs.
Wizball would have been great if only you could have that control power-up enabled by default instead of bouncing around trying to get two tokens. >:-|
Elite would have been great if only you could get past Lenslok.

Most racing games...if you could go off the side of the road but come back on instead of just exploding...The "hard" edge of the road always annoyed me on race games. Nightmare Rally did it right in that sense.

Well since you mention O&L, O&L3 would have been great if you could somehow predict where you'd go when you went through a door. The weird, maze-like thing where going back through a door you just came out of took you somewhere else ruined an otherwise fun game.

To state the bleedin' obvious, ZX Spectrum Pac Land should have been scrolling, not flip-screen.
Double Dragon would have been better if the conversion popped out of 6 Central Street, Manchester.
And the vast majority of Speccy games would have been better with a level editor.

Penetrator would be so much better if fire & right were different keys, fortunately it’s easy enough to hack.
Cavern Fighter would be probably be great if it didn’t move at mach 40. Might be worth trying to hack that too actually.

All Ultimate games would've been better with the option to redefine the keys.

Yeah, good call. On that vein I would say that Ant Attack could have been far more enjoyable if only you could just throw things with one fire button rather than having several different fire buttons.
