An orange studded with cloves, which for reasons never entirely clear to us, we all used to get in our stockings.

Nope, never got that when we were young. Nearest thing to that was a Terry’s Chocolate OrangeR-Tape wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 8:25 am An orange studded with cloves, which for reasons never entirely clear to us, we all used to get in our stockings.

Never heard of that @R-Tape,

I envy you both @1024MAK @PeterJ. A Chocolate Orange > Orange, and at least I could have used the beans. I never quite worked out what to do with the hellraiser orange.
Did nobody have the Orange with cloves then?

Oranges in the stocking, yes, but not studded with cloves; they were reserved for the Christmas ham. And the stocking was one of my dad’s old kilt socks. No beans though.
