General software. From trouble with the Banyan Tree to OCP Art Studio, post any general software chat here. Could include game challenges...

I take it this is definitely still going, right?

I would imagine they are still going strong “… our ten megabyte computer…” future proofed for sure ;-) It does make me wonder when did we stop talking about storage and start with CPU speeds?

Loving the self-important letters after names in the cassette, too. Do people still do this?! I did it for a few months after graduating, mid-1990s. Now, the memory of having done so makes me cringe!

Wow, so the qualifications clearly aren't remotely related to typography or graphic design.

Only West Germany, mind. You could try flinging some Speccy games over the Berlin Wall, but not sure how compatible it would be with their VEB Robotrons.

Given that it has 50% more of both 'Great Utilities' and 'Adventure Games' than 'Arcade Games', I'm guessing it's an early PD library trying to vaguely disguise the fact that you're buying into a giant Cassette 50 scheme without the calculator watch or quality control, rather than a lending library of the latest 'Hits'.

Lol, yes, I went for a quick Google and found numerous links that are very likely to be Mr Fry. Likes a bit of gardening these days, too. :)

But anyway... I sure didn't intend or wish to embarrass anyone for something they did approaching 40 years ago, or even if they still do it now: my own life experience has taught me that 'older' generations sometimes just think about/say/do things differently, then as now. Heck, my own teenagers call me granddad because I sometimes watch BBC iPlayer. So, best of luck to Mr Fry and his post-nomials. If he happens to stumble on this post sometime in the future, I'd love to hear his story about the Software Library venture.

Yeah, my first thought was a bunch of either PD software or just very low quality BASIC titles.
