With the ever-growing catalogue of games for both machines, I'm curious how their totals compare.
Anyone know how many games (including MIAs, excluding deliberate 'crap games') there are for both machines now?
Which has more games... Spectrum or C64?
Re: Which has more games... Spectrum or C64?
This is a rather tricky question, but the short answer always will be "C64".
My usual quick'n dirty metric is looking at the Gamebase collections, since they're very accurate and adhere to 1G1R principle. The latest one for the ZX (v5 by Manguan) counts 15200 and GBC v17 has 28500 entries. They're both somewhat outdated since ZX is from 2020, and there was already V19 of GBC released, but for a quick look I guess it's not too bad.
Of course you could get more precise answers from the database magicians, but for ZXDB at least, it doesn't seem easy to conduct such search.

Re: Which has more games... Spectrum or C64?
Wow, I expected the C64 to have more than the Spectrum, but not nearly double!
I'm guessing this is because there was support for the C64 in more countries.
I wonder how many countries had larger Spectrum communities than C64?
