QAOP bust again?

Post by ParadigmShifter »

There was a topic on this but it was closed.

I dunno if it's anything to do with this site or if QAOP is completely external but it doesn't seem to want to load anything again (never loads the page).

QAOP is miles better than JSSpeccy since the beeper timings are all messed up with that.

OK. Thanks for the report. Will take a look over the next week.

QAOP is completely external, but we pass parameters to it.

@ParadigmShifter,

I just tried a random title and it works fine for me.

https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/1 ... NA_Warrior

Can you test multiple titles, and let me have a bit more detail. Cheers.

Hmm ok it doesn't work for me :( It never loads the page. Maybe something to do with my browser I suppose (although it's just Chrome).

The first link on that page sends me to

https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/playonl ... ownid=8850

which then never completes loading.

SJOE link takes me to here

https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/playonl ... nid=168211

which doesn't work either :(

JSSpeccy links work fine (apart from the sfx issues)

Never mind I can download snapshots or TAP files if I want to run them on Spin but it is a bit of a pain.

Last time I tried on a iPad mini, the site would not work (it did earlier in the year). I no longer have this iPad.

On the device that I am currently using, it does work (the link that Peter provided) and just going to the site via its URL so that you drop into BASIC.

Looking forward to summer later in the year.

I tried Brave browser as well, does not work for that either, so it's either my local internet settings or my ISP (I also have problems with some links on the site not working as well which I think is an ISP thing).

Never mind then I will just download TAP files I guess and use Spin, or else use JSSpeccy to have a look to see if files are worth downloading.

Thanks for looking at it anyway.

Doesn't work for me either.

Hi @ParadigmShifter,

Just tried Brave on W11 and it's fine. As you say, must be something it your end. Will close this thread.

@1024MAK, I refuse to use Apple stuff, but my understanding is some some iPads didn't like Javascript.

Fine for me in Chrome W11.

Note to all..
Please include the browser and OS when reporting 'bugs'. I can only support W11 (Chrome / Brave / Edge / Firefox), and Ubuntu Linux (Firefox & Brave). Thanks

No worries. I think it is probably to do with QAOP being an http site, and not https.

This URL doesn't work:
http://torinak.com/qaop/#128#l=https:// ... V2i99Z.TAP

but it does if I change http to https:
https://torinak.com/qaop/#128#l=https:/ ... V2i99Z.TAP

I'm using Chrome on Win7.

Thanks for the details @sn3j,

It looks like QAOP have recently changed to HTTPS, and we are still requesting HTTP.

Give me a couple of days to fix at our end. Looks like some browsers are complaining.

Is Chrome for W7 still updated by Google?

Thanks again.

Neither of those links don't work for me. EDIT: If I remove the torinak thing from the start though it just downloads a TAP file, so maybe the link is wrong.

Links I posted do have https in I think, they don't work either.

It used to work fine until recently and I haven't touched my settings or anything, so it's strange.

I'm using Win10 but that should be pretty similar to Win11 I think.

I wouldn't recommend using Win7 though either. I think support for that ended years ago?

It certainly did.

Sorry, but I just can't replicate your issue.
