Denial of a SpecNext wiki account

I tried to sign up for a SpecNext wiki account today, only to be presented with this error:

Account creation error

Account creation from this IP address (X.X.X.X) has been blocked by Xalior.

The reason given by Xalior is Autoblocked because your IP address has been recently used by "BacklinkServicesreviews". The reason given for BacklinkServicesreviews's block is "Spamming links to external sites"

OK so I need to use a VPN just to edit the SpecNext wiki!? Really?

I was going to create a wiki page for xberry pi specifics. I have contributed docs to several well known open source projects and made 100's of contributions to the Arch and Uzebox wikis in particular. Jim knows me too! You'll be missing out not letting me rip on your wiki,

Is blank and I don't see any contact info on the main page. This has nothing to do with the FB group.

I think what Peter means is, you can ask them your question on their FB group. You'll have much more chance of an answer there.

I'm gonna agree with Steve here, even though I do hate Facebook.

Will do! I'm aiming to use FB as little as possible in all my Next discussions but this seems like a worthwhile thing to make an exception for.

Such a post will have to added benefit of further publicising that they will be putting less persistent users off contributing to the Next wiki by being so OTT with security precautions so its not all bad.

Sadly the Forum seems like a barren landscape. FB seems to be their main form of communication. Good to try all paths though.

Not requiring a login that FB can and do remove from people at the drop of a hat (amongst several other ills) combined with the ability to attach files to posts means there's really no competition in FB vs a good forum.
