A really good bunch of games here (Turbo Esprit, Trap Door, Thunderbirds, Three Weeks in Paradise, ... ) but my vote went to That's the Spirit, a game tha tI played a lot back in the day, amazed first time I played it, cool to explore etc

Voted for Three Weeks In Paradise in the end as I do have a bit of a soft spot for the Wally Week series.
I've just noticed that They Stole A Million isn't on the list, was it not considered good enough or just a case that, until now, nobody mentioned it?

Great list and pretty tough to pick just one. I was torn between Three Weeks in Paradise, Technician Ted, Transformers, TLL and Turbo Esprit, but, based on what I played the most BITD I went for Transformers!! I I know it seems an odd decision, but, me and my mate spent ages playing this game
Re: The best classic Speccy game beginning with T: vote
Tough one as there are some classics in that list. I was tempted to vote for Trashman, Turbo Esprit, Trapdoor or Target: Renegade but in the end went for Three Weeks In Paradise. It was a solid arcade adventure and the best of the Wally games for me. I completed it very quickly and actually phoned Mikro-Gen up to see if I was one of the first but I was actually the third person to phone them.
I also inadvertently found the infinite lives cheat. It must have been due to a cheap death that I mashed the keyboard, heard a strange jingle and lo and behold: infy lives! This contributed greatly to me finishing the game so quickly

Voted for thrust then saw tapper...doh, tapper would be my vote (as it's one of my favorite speccy games).
Re: The best classic Speccy game beginning with T: vote
Thanks namco, that's a lot of pictures.
Tricky this one. These are my favourites of the bunch:
Tornado Low Level
Target Renegade
Thrust
Tir na Nog
The Trap Door
Trashman
Treasure Island Dizzy
Technician Ted would be there if it wasn't so bloody hard! Trap Door was great; it looked like a game for a more powerful system. I've had the most fun with Thrust and Target Renegade.
I should probably vote for Tir na Nog, it's a Speccy icon and I don't think there was anything quite like it at the time. However, I think one of the Renegade series deserves to win, and as Renegade didn't get 'R', it's got to be Target Renegade.

Yep, a great selection there. For me there are 5-6 games competing for 2nd place but I have to go for
Target Renegade
Used to be one of those games I could finish over and over, though after the first playthrough you start relying more on a combination of flying & back kicks to beat most of your opponents.

A fair few good titles here, but I'm going for the boxing glove bearing egg again - he's got to end up with one of these surely and Treasure Island Dizzy pretty much defined the formula that was used for every subsequent title.

Re: The best classic Speccy game beginning with T: vote
Curious that whenever I read 'They stole a million' I think of the compilation of similar title

And I think of "they stole half a million"Juan F. Ramirez wrote: ↑Mon Dec 03, 2018 9:15 pm Curious that whenever I read 'They stole a million' I think of the compilation of similar title
On topic though: once again too many great games in this bunch, Thanatos, Trash Man and Through the Trap Door were in the running, but finally I had to vote for the 8 bit grand daddy of GTA - Turbo Esprit!
Re: The best classic Speccy game beginning with T: vote
TLL, Tau Ceti, Three Weeks in Paradise, Thunderbirds, Time-Gate, Trans Am, Trashman. Another tough choice, but the one game i can still go back to over and over is Trapdoor. Don Priestley for president.
I don't have anything cool to put here, so i'll just be off now to see a priest with yeast stuck between his teeth and his friend called Keith who's a hairpiece thief...

So torn between Target Renegade and Trashman! Two of my all-time Speccy faves. In the end I went with Trashman, although I expect TR will most likely win out in the end. Honorary mention to Trapdoor, which is also absolutely superb!

Re: The best classic Speccy game beginning with T: vote
Big surprises so far: Tapper, Terra Cresta & Tir Na Nog zero votes.
Re: The best classic Speccy game beginning with T: vote
Some fantastic games in that list, but I opted for Trashman in the end. Mainly because there's been nothing really like it since, the only way I know of experiencing what it is like to be a Waste Collection Technician with household members making references to 1980s computers.
Montague Street was also a street near where I lived and had a paper round on and it coincidentally looked very similar to "Montague Road" in Trashman. Looking at it on Google Maps, it looks even more like it, I can just imagine a little 8-bit trashman going in each of the houses!
But doing a search on Google Maps for all the streets in Trashman (Montague Road, Pulteney Road, Lyncombe Vale, Widcombe Hil, Landsdown Roadl), it looks like it may have been set in Bath!

Yeah, I live nearby in Bristol and have been intending for years to make a Speccy pilgrimage to Bath to visit them all.
(Not going to be this year though, you can hardly move through the streets at Christmas time..)
