Re: Advanced Spectrum Arcade Simulator
Forgotten by who? It was one of the very first games I played on the Spectrum (16K!) and I still enjoy it every now and then. At higher levels life becomes very hard
Re: Advanced Spectrum Arcade Simulator
The speed compared to other games around that date was remarkable, very frantic when you learn how to navigate the maze.

Hikoki, why in the world would you want to smooth out voxels?!?
You could have something like this, brimming with style and charm

Nice artwork indeed.
I rather thought of something not so much square on everywhere that reminds you of first 3d from the 90's arcade machines or something lowpoly spiky like first PS1 Tekken, Rare works for the N64..
The smoothed out voxel guy I posted above looks a little like the blond baddies from Doom, maybe you could make characters with voxels and other rounded forms and smooth out the whole set in the end.
Another different style would be having characters with micheli-esque muscles in some places which give them a really fierce and nasty look. I took the horse and bunny pics from some academic pdf papers..dunno if such softwares are available to the public.

Re: Advanced Spectrum Arcade Simulator
I've just open-sourced it. Help yourself to a copy at https://bitbucket.org/SteveSmith16384/spectrumarcade . There's a few niggly problems to solve before I can package it up into a nice simple download. After that, I'm going to start work on a multiplayer FPS version of Chaos.5MinuteRetro wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 9:13 pm I like the idea. How/when/where can we get hold of it?
