Isometric Atic Atac for Spectrum
Isometric Atic Atac for Spectrum
Well. I think that I can finish this project, so Im shoeing something here.
Its an Atic Atac isometric version. Its almost finished. I have to put the keys, objects and monsters in the map and I dont know exactly where I can put them. I know how to put the yellow key (I think that it is always in the same room), but I dont know the others.
Can anyone tell me the posible places for the object/monsters in Atic Atac?

Looks very promising!
Is there any chance that you added more colour, even if it caused some colour clash? Seems that your objects on screen like doors,
trapdoors, armours, bricks etc. are quite sparse and not touching each other so they could be in theory colourful.
As for object placement, all I know it's random but coming from a few combinations and always the same after loading the game from tape.
I won't tell you the details though, in worst case it would require examining the source code.

Very nice!

This is proper special. It looks like you've done the most onerous work, so I really hope to see it. The isometric turkey is a really nice touch!
Is border whizz the finalised 'down the tunnel' effect?

Pure awesomeness.
Every man should plant a tree, build a house, and write a ZX Spectrum game.

Stunning work, really.
It looks very polished and professionally made, allready.
I would also like to see more colors if possible, but still need to avoid color clash in this type of game.

Well, I hate colour Clash in isometric ganes. I hope to put a very colourful game panel, bit un the game...

Re: Isometric Atic Atac for Spectrum
I dont know what effect Im going to use for trap and ladders. It depends on the memory free. It is not a very easy question...
Re: Isometric Atic Atac for Spectrum
I'm sure you've seen the PC/Spectrum Next remake and the effect it uses for the trapdoor...here it is if you haven't

Re: Isometric Atic Atac for Spectrum
The original method used in atic atac would work fine I think...fix it up a bit with maybe your guy in the middle in a "from above" perspective.

Re: Isometric Atic Atac for Spectrum
How about having a static tunnel screen with the computer controlling the player falling from the top to the bottom of the screen, then the room below appears and the player falls from the ceiling and lands on the floor, the game continues
Re: Isometric Atic Atac for Spectrum
Also! On the original Atic Atac, you always land over a carpet. That works also as an indicator that you can access that room via a trapdoor.
