Merry Chusma!!! I laugh out loud in pain on the radioactive universe. The numbers on 2017 I think don't reflect two Basic compos to celebrate the 35th aniversary, more than 35 coded by hand games off your victorian radar.
Now to the games. I fear to bump into many UDG graphics which were always my favoUrite

I've been statbusted! I just used the ZXDB SC search.

The year isn't over either, the games on this tape aren't included, so we can add at least 4 coded, 3 designer to the total.

That's easy. We will have an entry for the magazine itself, then separate entries for each included demo or game. Like this:

https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/index.p ... 6&id=30342

Except one of these included games will be marked as "x-rated" thus sites like SC can optionally block that file only.

Please people, don't remove adult titles from Spectrum Computing. 99% of us are old men in 30s, 40s and 50s and we all know how a naked human body looks like ;)

If some lost kid would come here then it would be enough to put some warning, maybe require clicking that he accepts watching and downloading adult content.

(yet I suppose that if someone is lost in Internet he'll find his way to Redtube much easier anyway than to Spectrum Computing ;) )

Peter needs to be more careful than most in his line of work, so I've no problem with my pervy puzzle game being excluded from the main archive :-) . I don't think anything is finalised anyway, just that adult titles will not be in the openly accessed main archive (same as WoS).

Gave the magazine a good read and tried out the games and demos last night. Great editorial content and some really terrific quality games. Thanks for producing this again this year.

In original WoS, there's an opt-in config option for logged users to see x-rated titles, otherwise they are hidden from searches. It's a great solution, I suggest that SC does the same!

Anybody manage Rorthron's cryptic clues? I found them all manageable, after reading the answers...

I managed to work out clue no. 2 (and I think that was because I couldn't think of another Spectrum game beginning with Ken off the top of my head). The rest were a bust.

From the Express letters page,

Dear Sir/Madam,
Being a complete nutcase and a fan of Youtube unboxing videos. I'm offended that in the SokobXXX game, I selected the crates, but when I completed a level. the planks of wood were not removed from each crate so I could not peek inside.
Lady Diana, we love you!! Ooohh!!! bubblewrap and sellotape......

Dear Sir/Madman,

After an invigorating sojourn to John Menzies in the high street, and buying a copy of Christmas Crapmas for £14.99, I am severely displeased to discover that the rigorously challenging first level was followed by a literally impossible second. There is a white enemy at the bottom right that moves one char every twenty minutes, which impedes progress on a level with a time limit of a mere 14 CGD units.

I would like to complain in the strongest terms, ask for a full refund, and call the author a bellend.

Felicitations

Desmond Gruntled, also Berks.

Egad! Christmas Pudding attack is actually playable.

The key response and speed seems impossible to begin with, but it benefits from a non constant frame rate - so the more things that explode, the slower the game. I'm still amazed Text Voyage thought the caps shift speed up option necessary tho.

An unbeatable hiscore of 640.

Ah. Oops. If you're quick enough to turn on the block rather than past it you don't get trapped.

You are Michael Jackson and I claim my £10.

I thought the challenge of the game was to load it.... but once it is loaded the challenge is to control santa and collect prezzies. Piece of P?s?, as I said to the doctor, handing over a fresh, warm sample.

Gubscroll fixed...

Has a few features to play with as you read the text.

https://www.sendspace.com/file/fb8hh1

Available for about 28 days, then it will be deleted by the hosting site.
So... get it now (if you can)

Think of it being similar to a DVD release: now with deleted scenes, added commentary, new graphics and an alternative ending.

Argh, so I finally got fed up with wading through Amazon dross and failing to buy any Xmas pressies, and finally got round to trying this.

Very amusing Mr Typoid, nice work..! I managed to get 4 of Rorthron's clues - might have got a few more if I was less impatient.

Flippin' eck, the Christmas Pud game has a touch of the Rally Drivers about it.. Talk about twitch central..

Am enjoying the advent calendar game, have done up to the 12th and will try to continue with one a day.

Not sure what else is on the tape, I have a day off work tomorrow so may have a look when I get back from the pub.

Cheers Ivan, I'm glad I gave it infy lives, I think I'll make that a regular feature.

Something I considered (but did nothing about) was translations. Getting it done in one language was enough work, but a Spanish & Russian version at the very least would be good.

It would spoil the formatting a bit as some pages were edited to fit on 1 page, apart from the Russian one of course where only the Я is turned the wrong way round.

Next year. Honest.

After some feedback, I made some changes to my Xmas puddings game... the keys are less sensitive now and I've made it possible to remove the in-game tips:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/m84p3mqu4tzk4 ... 1.tap?dl=0

I'm not sure if it's still "Christmas" or not now at time of writing, I still feel a bit Christmassy and quite enjoy being in "deliberate denial" about Christmas being over, if it is over, which in my opinion, it isn't!
