I can record the tapes to a WAV file but that's as far as I've got to previously. But for the book that would be impossible to scan without ruining the spine, unless others know of methods to prevent this?

Your first image will work nicely as an inlay pic ([mention]pavero[/mention]?). We can store the WAVs as TZX here, if you email them to me or make available online. Hopefully someone can give advice with the book.
