We are planning on holding a little get together via Zoom on Wednesday 23 December at 19:30 GMT.

If you would be interested in joining us for a bit of a chat and a beer, and maybe to show off your Spectrum kit then please send me a PM and I will deal with the sending out of the invitations, meeting codes and passwords. When sending out details I will use your registered email address.

To make this happen we need a volunteer please. I don't want to be the chair, so would need someone to volunteer for us please. If someone wanted to organise a little Christmas quiz as well that would be great.

To join us, you need to be a forum member. When logging into Zoom you can enter a 'nickname'. Please use your SC Forum Username. Cheers.

Hmmm. It sounds like "the chair" needs to be someone with a paid-for version of Zoom, which I don't have seeing as I've only ever used it once. Otherwise, it'll be one hour on the air, and that's your lot.

Unless the rules have changed since May...

You have the wrong end of the stick. Chair the session, not set-up the Zoom meeting.

For the record, I'll be in on this anyway. I have minimal people-contact at the best of times and 40 minutes with like-minded people is probably what I'm going to need, given what I've just had announced.

For the record, I also will not have beer, on the grounds that I don't have any in stock.

But I do have home-brew cider (with rhubarb), horribly cheap rum, and six varieties of whisky... four of which are from Scotland. Also mead, but that's being saved for when I move house.

Maybe see how many we have? If it's less than say, 6 we wouldn't need a chairperson. If it's a lot we can just decide who least doesn't want to be the chair!

I think I'm seeing in-laws but sign me up as I'd love to make it if I can. I've really enjoyed being on this great forum the last 6 months. It will involve beer if I do.

Just a heads up about tomorrow.

There's no hard and fast structure, and not hundreds of us, so we don't really need a chair. If any need for such a thing arises, I can have a bash.

If anyone wants to come armed with the following, plus anything else that might be fun, that'd be splendid:

-stuff of retro interest for a bit of show & tell
-some Sinclair related images for 'guess the Zoom background'
-maybe a few tunes at the ready (have you emulator in the background?) for a bit of 'name that tune'

or no need to bring anything, just yourself for a bit of Speccy banter.
