Ah, it rightly ignores prefixes such as A/An/El/The/L'/Le/La/Los.
When I say 'classic', I'm referring to the period from 1982 to about 1993. I believe 1993 was the last year of the ZX Spectrum games market being commercially active (and this also includes magazines). You could still go into shops in high streets and shopping centres to buy games for your Speccy. It was pretty hard of course, and most of the stuff by this point were budget re-releases of full price games.
What isn't 'classic', is the homebrew stuff and other things made now the ZX Spectrum is a specialist interest. (Not that I'm putting it down, I'm a huge fan of Buzzsaw+.)
There is a bit of a grey area. Zenobi Software were selling new games (albeit via mail order) until 1997. I'm not sure how to class them. Then there's what was going in eastern Europe with all the Speccy clones and an apparently thriving games market..

It's better. Games like "The Eidolon" are visible now but personally I would yet change the sorting. The link to the list I posted yesterday should now be accurate (It includes the year so you can tell if it's 'classic' or not. Please let me know if not. I'm keen to iron out issues before I start on the full A-Z.
Instead of
Edd The Duck
Elite
Exolon
The Eidolon
I would do
Edd The Duck
The Eidolon
Elite
Exolon
Or even, as WOS does:
Edd The Duck
Eidolon, The
Elite
Exolon
If we ignore "the" then it shouldn't influence sorting as well.
But maybe other people could express their opinion too

I've never played it and it seems interesting.
And it's got a high WoS score. I think I should give it a try.

Apologies for throwing a proverbial spanner in the works, but, are we talking 'games' only or can we add Adventure Games? If so then I'd probably say Emerald Isle as I spent hours playing it 'back in the day'

Yeah, a text adventure is still a game. May not be mainstream, may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it is still a game. Stuff like spreadsheet programs; graphics packages; back-up software, etc, they're applications and utilities which won't count.

I think Make-a-Chip doesn't count either

I'd like to put forward Elevator Action for consideration for this poll.
It 's a fun arcade conversion that has a really good tune on it and has you offing enemy agents and ducking into red doors to retrieve secret plans. Ride the elevators to change floors, and later escalators. Shoot out lights, kick you enemy, crush you enemies when they try to ride on top of the elevator just don't get stuck on top yourself. The location of the red doors are random ly generated so a new challenge each play.
Did I say David Whittaker made a really catchy tune for this one, definitely a game that deserves a look in and one that will challenge you to have just one more go...
Thanks

Loved this in the arcade, it's got that 'one more go' quality.NeoStuey wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2018 10:22 pm I'd like to put forward Elevator Action for consideration for this poll.
