My 1986 entry into the Crash Design-A-Game competition

My 1986 entry into the Crash Design-A-Game competition

Post by bluespikey »

This is what my 11 year old self was going to enter into Crash issue 34's competiotn to design a game and then have it made. It was to be called Crash Bang Wallop and was going to be a cross between Pyjamarama and Skool Daze with a splash of Saboteur and Shadowfire thrown in.

Little Me only drew the map and got fed up half way through the covering letter. Crash went with the game KatTrap, which was pants. Its hard to believe that was the winning entry.

I really like games with ladders in them. But I don't know why!

Anyway, hurry up and get it made! :D

For some odd reason I alway remember Kat Trap winning this competition. It's amazing what utterly pointless information your memory stores.

I seem to remember putting an isometric mining game map together, but no idea if I actually sent it in or not. Probably doesn't matter if I did or not, I doubt it was very good.

I've always wanted to write a feature on this, but could never find the winner online. Maybe I'll have another go, especially as I now know someone else who entered a game!

Here he is: https://www.facebook.com/jon.eggelton

I remember once that a load of his designs turned up at Ocean. He had applied for a job and we had a good look through them. They were very good.

Looks pretty cool, but I can't read some of the text because the scan is a bit too low-res.

The colours you used were leaning a bit towards the Commode's colour palette ;)

Thanks Mark, what I meant was he never replied to my messages. Maybe I'll try again when I have a mo.
