I'm speechless too. It looks like we have the best racing game on Spectrum ever, better than Chase H.Q and everything else *
* if it only plays as good as it looks

Holy crap, that's amazing.
I can't imagine how anyone can throw that amount of graphics around - at that speed - on a Spectrum

This looks good. I had some hours of play of Zosya's previous driving game 'Drift', the presentation and game engine were beyond belief. Unfortunately I did not have the skills to do the game justice. I should give it some more time because when you got it right the game was really satisfying. Looking forward to this release.
Re: Travel Through Time vol. 1 - Zosya
Yes, Drift looked great and moved smoothly but suffered in gameplay. You didn't see the track you were supposed to drive on so you constantly got off the track and got disqualified.I had some hours of play of Zosya's previous driving game 'Drift', the presentation and game engine were beyond belief. Unfortunately I did not have the skills to do the game justice.
I really hope that here won't be such problems here and this will be just great in every aspect.

Is this going to be a TR-DOS game as it look's like there's a hell of a lot to cram into 128k?

Hi
I've just asked Natasha Zotova from Zosya on YouTube if Travel Through Time would be 128K multi-load or 128K single load. She just confirmed that will be 128k single load. Awesome! She also commented on Facebook that this game runs at about 25 fps. Wow!

Very impressive. For comparison Chase H.Q runs at 12 fps or 10 fps and still has a great sense of speed. Better not to talk about Outrun herethis game runs at about 25 fps. Wow!

Can you imagine doing a remake of Out Run using the same engine of Travel Through Time? Pretty sure it would be a way better game.

Looks really nice.
I was racking my brains trying to think of racing games that had such a variety of vehicles to pick from, couldn't really think of any.

Yes, I remember visiting that website long ago but I didn't remember Travel Through Time. I think this is a very important game for Zosya, with a really long development period. Natasha Zotova commented in an interview that the engine developed for TTT would be the basis (with variations) for all their racing games in the future. Anyway, there are really interesting projects in there, hope some of them will be finished sooner or later.Ralf wrote: ↑Thu May 27, 2021 9:19 pm By the way it looks like Oleg Origin is completing his old projects

I'm impressed by the amount of art assets created for games that never came to be.Ralf wrote: ↑Thu May 27, 2021 9:19 pm By the way it looks like Oleg Origin is completing his old projects

I'm affraid that's not entirely true. I asked Natasha Zotova about these games on Facebook this morning:Sol_HSA wrote: ↑Fri May 28, 2021 7:10 amI'm impressed by the amount of art assets created for games that never came to be.Ralf wrote: ↑Thu May 27, 2021 9:19 pm By the way it looks like Oleg Origin is completing his old projects

ME. Hi Natasha Zotova. Is there any chance that some of these projects will see the light of day? https://web.archive.org/.../www.../coming_soon.html
We know at least one of them will be released soon, what about the others? Some of them look very promising.
NATASHA. Of course. The same story as for Travel through time - probably, with some changes, but most of these are still in work (and dozens of others).
So, I assume that Oleg Origin cancelled those projects when he, Natasha and other people decided to create ZOSYA. By the way, in my opinion ZOSYA is just an acronym of the team members surnames'. Zotova, Origin, The "A" might be "Stella Aragonskaya" that worked with Oleg Origin doing the loading screen on Metal Man Reloaded. Now we just have to guess the "S" and "Y" What do you think? ZX Art is a good starting point to investigate.
Re: Travel Through Time vol. 1 - Zosya
The so called "Oleg Origin" (probably not a real name) has always been quite mysterious. You can't even be sureNow we just have to guess the "S" and "Y" What do you think?
if it was a single man or a team.
And I'll tell you something, I respect it If he/they don't want to be known by real names, then I won't investigate.

Yes, absolutely. I was just speculating. I know that Oleg Origin is an enigma for the Russian themselves. Even sin LAIR made a video for his YouTube channel with his hypothesis and theories about it. I absolutely respect their decision to remain anonymous. That mystery around them makes them even more interesting.Ralf wrote: ↑Sat May 29, 2021 8:11 pmThe so called "Oleg Origin" (probably not a real name) has always been quite mysterious. Re: Travel Through Time vol. 1 - Zosya
I just want to flag how my jaw dropped a little at 1:17, when the car went under the bridge and the vehicle went into shadow. It makes me wonder what other Spectrum games had similar subtle contextual effects. I’m pretty sure, for example, that the car-engine sound on Chase HQ became a bit deeper in tunnels.
