TR-DOS Software Disk

Post by wallyweek »

So I have this Beta 128 clone (by Zaxon) and I'm trying to format my first 3.5" diskette.

According to the TR-DOS manual, the format program is on a "Software Disk" I understand was enclosed with the original interface, but it seems I can't find anywhere on the net.

Does anyone have a .tap or even a .trd image which is willing to share please?

:o

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Format is already included in the Betas 128 TR-DOS v5 ROM.

Only older Beta-Interface (TR-DOS v3?) need this as separate program.

Try to use FUT. https://vtrd.in/system/FUT_201.ZIP
It formats bad disks better, because it moves the sectors on tracks randomly to avoid bad areas. It also allows to change the sector interleaving for high-speed loading. It can also restore old disks.
Another such utility is AIDS. https://vtrd.in/system/AIDS_02B.ZIP
