Step up to red alert. Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb :dance
Looking forward to summer later in the year.

The holy quaternity is spuds, sprouts, carrot and parsnip. Leeks are an optional extra.

If all else fails, and Christmas gets Great Resetted into oblivion for another year (as it will next year, and the year after that, and the year after that, if I'm still alive by that point), it always helps to know that the last four months of preparation were worth it.

Bottled yesterday, one opened today. I regret nothing.

Excellent presentation Jim. How does it taste? Hopefully not of dead mouse like so many of my country wine attempts.

I don't think it would quite pass the "Big Clive test", which is (adopts Glasgow accent) "I am so trashy that if you gave this to me and said it was £5 Chilean Merlot or £30 Châteauneuf-du-Pape I wouldn't know it wasn't either of them". After about a month, when the fermentation had stopped, I topped each demijohn up from 4 litres to 4.5 litres and added a bit of extra sugar. I can't remember how much - but even though the fermentation started again I don't think it finished, such is the problem with fermenting in a spare room that's a lot colder than the one I had last year. So it's "very slightly sweetish dessert red wine". It was an excellent accompaniment to watching Network last night, followed by They Live.

It certainly wasn't "dead mouse". Every bit of equipment you've got, wash it thoroughly, and sterilise it. Milton tablets designed for a baby's bottle are excellent for this purpose. And it certainly doesn't look or taste like the product of Jonathan Cauldwell's Homebrew, either!

Oops missed that.

I'm a big fan of Count Arthur too (saw him live ages ago). It'd be a piece of cake for him to work in things like the ZX-Speculum and Commode 64.
