A nice read.
I think everyone see himself in this story. In my case replace Escape by Android One!
... and I also was luckier, my Spectrum worked since the first time!

Cripes, yeah, what a flurry of emotions - receive a Speccy for Xmas, then to find out it doesn't work..

What a great read, this literally could have been written by me. I'm the same age and had the same spectrums and even went to the mega drive at the same time. I also missed out on the spectrum community and a cheap 48k membrane bought by my son this year made me aware. I spent 3 months trying to bring my 48k speccie back to life and its almost there but now i have a big shinney new N-go and i love it.
