Switching Distros

Post by spookym »

Hi All,

Just quick curiosity question on updating distro's for the ZXNext, I have two sd cards 16gb (kept the original supplied one safe for posterity in the Next box) one updated to the 2.06H distro, which i'm currently using, and I have now put the latest 2.07G disrto on my second sd, I was wondering if I used this sd updated to the 2.07G distro on start up, is this a permanent upgrade or could I restore the older version 2.06H via core firmware update with my older version sd card via the 'U' option?

@spookym it is no problem to go forward and backward in SpecNext Distro Versions!

btw. I´m doing a thread "ZX Spectrum Next - System/Next Firmware NextZXOS Recommended Versions" at: https://forum.tlienhard.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=4031

Some information about updates and distributions:

If you have two separate sd cards with their own distributions then it's a simple matter to go back and forth. The one thing you need to do is to remember to update the hardware by pressing U during a power up. The hardware definition is stored in the file "TBBLUE.TBU" on your sd cards.
