HiLow DataDrive Emulation

Post by chernandezba »

Hi

These days I'm currently working on fixing HiLow DataDrive Emulation on ZEsarUX. It's very close to be finished: can format, read and write files. I think you should read the article here (in Spanish, but you can use google translate):

https://www.elmundodelspectrum.com/se-c ... -spectrum/

And I think it would be nice to complete the info + photos here
https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/1 ... /Datadrive

There's also documentation and info in my ZEsarUX extra repository:

https://github.com/chernandezba/zesarux ... docs/hilow

Cheers

Your work to emulate the HiLow DataDrive has been amazing. Here in Uruguay this device has been an important piece of history. Greetings from the entire HiLow DataDrive Team.

Great! I didn't know about this piece of hardware until I found that ZesarUX could emulate it.

I wrote an entry for it in the Spectrumpedia, volume 1 page 178: https://www.alessandrogrussu.it/sp.html

The photo in that page is taken from a video on YouTube, also mentioned in the book's sources, where Carlos Galucci shows how the device works:
