Knight Lore 2: Conquest of Fairlight

Post by Gilberto »

Greetings!
I don't know if this is the right place but... somebody knows something about this Knight Lore 2: Conquest of Fairlight?

https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/9 ... _Fairlight

I was hoping for it to be some kind of tribute or something if it was indeed related to Knight Lore, and a special reedition if the target was Fairlight.
But I'm totally clueless!
It's like it has no sense at all.
Maybe it's only a placeholder, a joke, or even a try to build a legend A-la Mire Mare style?

If you check their ad in PCW, they're also advertising a tool called The Designers Collection, which allows you to modify Knight Lore, JSW etc..

I would guess that Knight Lore 2 is a mod built with that. It requires a copy of Knight Lore, apparently.
ULTIMATE APPROVED, it announces. Hmm.

Well, the advert says that "a copy of the original Knight Lore game is required for copyright reasons" (or something close to that), so it was probably just the original with a new map.

But M Whatling says 'its more playable than the original'. High praise indeed!

Well, this Knight Lore 2 thing is much better than the original, you have to read the advert carefully. It has 3D Graphics, "Amazing Animation" (note: not "amazing animation" - this is more like a term for some crazy animation technology), Filmation ...

and

... all the favourite features of the original game! It's all in this little word "and". Which I read as the original not having the things listed above. I mean, we all surely do remember Knight Lore being in 2D graphics with not-quite-so-great animation in that cherished jerk-o-vision engine?
