New Software 2020

People are still making stuff for the Sinclair related machines. Tell us about new games and other software that runs on the Spectrum, ZX80/ZX81, Pentagon and Next.

It's a John Blythe game, so it's likely to be a good'un. Cassette only at the moment, avaiable from Monument Microgames (I can't see it in their shop yet).
This is going to be a tricky one, as the game was already finished by 2018 waiting for Monument to release it to the public  :)

Invasion of the Cloud People, still not ready for release, but this video by the author is charming:

It's really great to see people getting into the Spectrum for the first time, especially from far-away places like the USA where it was and is largely unknown. :)

Quite a nice little block puzzle.

(For those not sure: QAOP-Spc, 'shoot' the blocks into the middle from the edges, match 3 or more colours, the goal is to clear the grid).

Bandito is really nice. Just remember not to touch the cacti :)

There is probably something wrong with .tap file however. It doesn't load for me in Spectaculator. Could anybody contact the author on WOS about it?
Also it seems to be made with AGD, could anybody confirm it?

Spectaculator does not load files correctly sometimes. I tried the .TAP with SpecEmu without any problems.

On the mainly green screen with the first charge to collect, it's not possible to collect the key unless you leave the screen (at the top) and return.

Is that bug or am I missing a feature?

Completed. Nice to manage that on bread and water (no cheats or snapshots).

It's good, straightforward fun, and very short. At first I thought some of it was unfair, like the ammo/time limit, and the infernal diagonal baddies, but after a few plays I realised that these are part of the fun. You can learn tricks to avoid shooting, or use ammo more effectively by shooting when the baddy is moving away from you, so that the collision time is longer and it needs less bullets. And it's not often you see a decent boss in an AGD game. You can't mess about when the bomb is activated—you've got to move pretty efficiently to get back in time.

The key collection is a bit bugged on some screens, but if you stand on the key for longer, or move about the screen a bit, it seems to collect.

One day, they'll invent a bomb to destroy an alien planet with a longer fuse, or some kind of remote trigger, until that day, the games will be more fun

Thumbs up. Looking forward to your next game.

Hi, David!
I guess that's a bug. I have tried to fix it in different ways, but always the same.
The game is made in AGD 4.8, and Jonathan told that this version contains some bugs, so I deduce that perhaps this is one of them.
Although it is also probably due to my inexperience. :)

Thank you so much, R-Type!
As your can see, enemies have a counter between 3 and 5 to be destroyed; except de tough boss (he needs 50). I toyed with the possibility of making the bullet an event, but got none...
And so, as I told you before, the key issue got me crazy. :)
Thank you again for your feedback.
Cheers!!

Why not make the your latest development snapshot of the game available. Perhaps someone could help with the key bug.

It's an experimental untested version that Jonathan released about one year ago as legacy before concentrating all of his efforts on the Windows multi-platform edition.

HI.
Updated UFO on https://packobilly.itch.io/ufo
Fixed the key bug.
Jonathan recommended me to do the Custom check in the player event. I have tried several times and there is not any issue.
Thank you so much, R-Type!

Interesante propuesta, Druellan!
Bien gestionado el Basic.
Este AsteroideZX sabe bien cómo compartir su conocimiento.
