...When I put my Lenslok over that image, I can see the words "Ha ha ha, you are never going to play Elite"...

Re: Guess the screen$
Could it be a racing car, like from a Cassette 50 game?
Re: Guess the screen$
Nope to all of those.
It's from the ingame status bar of the game.
I've no idea how well known the game is but I had a schoolyard copy on C90 so someone somewhere must have bought it!
One reviewer said that "it seems to have reached the limit of Spectrum graphics" and pushes "the potential of the Spectrum to its limits" and awarded it 10/10
Another reviewer said it was good with "amusing" sound!
Seems amazing that it got nil points on a clone wars vote, then!
Clearly demonstrates that SC users wouldn't know an awesome limit-pushing game even if it was gift wrapped in TDK's finest livery.

Yep - was it the reviews that gave it away?

If I was looking for a game that pushed the limits of the Spectrum, I'd never have found it

Blim, I was very fond of Orbiter (And Ground Attack) but even in 1982 there were better games around. The most important thing about Orbiter is the only game I'm aware of that the instructions specifically need :
4. Type CLEAR 25102.
5. Type LOAD "" CODE.
Rather than just Load "". Was this some sort of anti-piracy, or did the programmer not know what he was doing?

Looks like it should be a James Bond game....
Re: Guess the screen$
Is that from the Thunderbirds adventure games?
Re: Guess the screen$
Looks vaguely like the CJ games. Hints of Rick Dangerous in the rocks...
Re: Guess the screen$
Graphics reminded me of Bubble Dizzy, but that rabbithole didn't lead anywhere.

Re: Guess the screen$
It reminded me of one of the arcade Dizzy games, but I couldn't remember which.

It's a full price release from 1990.

Little Computer People/LCP?
Re: Guess the screen$
Time for a clue then. It's an early movie licensed game.
