I'm a bit late to respond to this ... well, she had to be - she was born on the same day as me ;)

Here a twisted one: a out-of-context Spectrum game inside a Spectrum game (sort of):

Oh, shoot. This reminds me that I forgot to buy flip-flops for the missus today. :?

Is that an insatiably hungry bird I saw flying overhead there, at a pace so slow it should long since have fallen out of the sky?

Well, yeah, I remember that too. Difference is, the suit of 1984 could only fly for a maximum of 20 seconds - which is hardly usable at all. While this other jet suit of today lets you fly up to 12 minutes. Which still isn't a lot, but a whole different story anyway. So that's quite a progress.

You have to be rather strong and trained to use it though. If I'm right, it's like pushing yourself up from bars with your arms for, well, up to 12 minutes. And of course it's still very dangerous (another entertaining video).

If I remember correctly, they said back then, these 20 seconds don't make much sense. But that's on earth with its gravity. These suits made much more sense in space. Which leads back to Jetpac again.

You know, if technical progress of propulsion systems goes on like this, one day we may even have electrically powered soapboxes in our streets. :)

Beat me to it :D

Hey @Juan F. Ramirez - that is some weird colour for the melons. You could almost mistake it for a loaf of bread seen from above. I mean, proper dark bread, not like that white bread trash they got in countries like the USA.

And € 1,69 per kilo? That's expensive for Spain, or is it some kind of organic stuff? I spent a few weeks in Madrid back in 2007, and one of the shops I went to offered the kilo for 0,49 € ...
