Not at all, but (IMHO) if the game is unknown to the majority (which I'm assuming Them is as it never got reviewed in mags AFAICS) the task is next to impossible.

I think its OK if its from the screenshot, or map if there is one, or early in a youtube video. Otherwise if you suspect it might be a game that you're unfamiliar with and its actually a sprite which only appears in the last level of that game, its too difficult to check it out.
