Probably there are fighting games for ZX where you can select your unique character? And PC races give you a choice of your car with its own characteristics, more fast or more controllable.

In Xor you need to swap between two different characters.

You swap between different droids in Deactivators.

Capitan Trueno (https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/8 ... tan_Trueno), you can change between 3 characters/sprites with particular skills.

Edit: Ops, someone said it in a previous post. Then Comando Quatro (https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/1 ... ndo_Quatro), you change the protagonist each few seconds.

Edit2: there are too a few text adventures where you can swap character, iirc one of The Famous Five.
