I had it back in the day. Infuriating game - never did get far. It's a shame that it didn't have some splashes of colour to differentiate the tiles - I reckon it could have been done with judicious use of black borders.

The screenshots on Moby Games make the game look quite exciting, so this is cropped from one of them.
The screenshot in the DB has literally nothing going on in it!

Invasion. I recognise the tank. Its a sort of futuristic Stonkers but feels annoyingly unfinished. Plus it crashes out, just like Stonkers.

That's the one. Shame about the crashing, as it looks quite nice in a busier screenshot at least.

Brian Bloodaxe?

Yes, Brian Bloodaxe. Well done. You can always tell when a Spectrum game developer is running out of ideas for new sprites because they include angry toilets as baddies. Manic Miner, Brian Bloodaxe, The Pyramid all have them. Maybe its a British thing.

Subway Vigilante came to my mind - and this exact floor tile is present in this game indeed, but ... it's in yellow. Of course, there are lots of games I don't know (I didn't post anything for the last half dozen or so)! However, I only post here when I'm correct (or convinced I am, like in this special case). I never actually "guess".

Yes, congraturation you sucsess, I deliberately picked another Players title after the previous picture.

Also, I will say this about the Players catalogue of games - I find it is full of "blaverage" games, going over them I saw a few titles that I'd played in the late 80s/early 90s and completely forgotten about, just not memorable enough I guess ...

I think most of my exposure to Players games was on covertapes.
