VIII. Basque Tournament of ZX Spectrum 2023

Post by PeterJ »

Egoitz Campo contacted me about the Basque Tournament of ZX Spectrum 2023.

On the 16th of August Euskal-Retro association organized the VII. Basque Tournament of Spectrum in Santutxu (Bilbao), at Café Berria bar. It was a very fun and memorable retro afternoon. This time we have achieved a cartridge that loads the games instantly and is more comfortable. In any case, we loaded Aguaski with tape in the usual way.

We played : Green Beret, Pang (a very classic arcade game), WEC Le mans and Aguaski.

The winner was Egoitz who starts with an advantage because he plays from his own home but the others did very well and did a decent job. They all had a great time. After playing spectrum we played another classic system from the 80s, atari 2600.

The idea is to organize the VIII. Basque Tournament in February of 2024. Here are the results of this VII. Basque Tournament of Spectrum:

Green Beret

1-Egoitz Campo 4 points (2.500)

2-Daniel Barrientos 3 points (1.350)

3-Andi Erromo 2 points (350)

4-Lander Campo 1 point (200)

Pang

1-Egoitz Campo 3 points (33.500)

2-Andi Erromo 2 points (9.370)

3-Daniel Barrientos 1 point (8.700)

WEC Le mans

1-Egoitz Campo 3 points (69.160)

2-Daniel Barrientos 2 points 68.500)

3-Andi Erromo 1 points (13.500)

Aguaski

1-Egoitz Campo 4 points (1.400)

2-Daniel Barrientos 3 points (775)

3-Jon Ander Gil 2 points (425)

4-Lander Campo 1 point (275)

Classification of VIII. Basque Tournament of ZX Spectrum 2023

1-Egoitz Campo 14 points (Basque Country)

2-Daniel Barrientos 9 points (Basque Country)

3- Andi Erromo 5 points (Basque Country)

Thanks! I wish my Spanish was as good as Egoitz's English. I have edited his text to fix that typo.

I do love the idea of a small group of friends meeting up in a small cafe and just setting up their Spectrums. Has anyone done anything similar in the UK?
