That's right, folks. It's another MegaQuiz, brought to you by myself and Van_Dammesque. Starts this Friday, not sure what time yet, but hopefully somewhere between 09:00-10:00. I might be off work Friday (not sure yet, depends how tomorrow goes), and if I am I'll be doing my best to get a bit of a lie in. Brace yourselves, it's gonna be a big one.

Ok, this MegaQuiz will consist of five rounds. I'll post three rounds to begin with, and then post an additional round when one of these three is completed. There are also some bonus rounds that I'll post separately to this lot that are just for fun, there won't be any points given for those. Van_Dammesque has really outdone himself with this one, there's some really fun stuff there. Right then, on with the quiz... *deep breath*

Rules for this quiz: No more than three answers per post. No consecutive posts from the same user (mine don't count). Correct answers are worth 1 point each, or half a point each if/when clues are given. If clues are given, rules no longer apply (except the points rule, obviously). No peeking inside Maria's Christmas Box.

1-1 in the music round: not at all sure of this one, but it sounds like it should be from The Addams Family (by comparison with the SNES soundtrack).

1-10 is very, very definitely Auf Wiedersehen Monty.

I'm never any good at the SCRambleds so I'll move on to Spot The Difference:

on the Easy one, "Green Beret" has become "Green Bert", who sounds like an evil character from Sesame Street.

All right then, more Hysteria spot the difference (I didn't know what game it was, so cheers for that)...

- two red dots on the bottom-right robot-man-whatever-it-is icon on the right, they're yellow on the left

- another one of those flying things is poking onto the left edge of the screen on the right picture, it isn't there on the left

- there's a blob (a bullet / projectile of some sort) in front of the walking man on the left, it's gone on the right.

Now, what was that not-Addams Family tune, then? Over to everyone else.

ALSØ: who's been putting extra BASIC keywords in the wordsearch? I've found TAN, PI, LN, IN and TO and they weren't listed. Not really surprised to see four of them there, mind...

ALSØ ALSØ: now that PQR's had a go, I'll get more in. You snooze, you lose.

- Hysteria: the right picture has an extra house in the distance (middle right of the picture) compared to the left

- Green Beret: (1) the beret is cyan, (2) F.D. Thorpe's signature is missing.

The fourth GB difference is also obvious, but I don't have the fifth yet.

I've done the wordsearch and made a few interesting discoveries:

This must have been made with a make-a-wordsearch program, because (a) so much has been packed into a small space that it'd need s complicated algorithm to do it, and (b) some clues are in the same place as others, such as (see the next spoiler to find out):

FOR and FORMAT, INT and PRINT, and (less obviously) REM and MERGE.

As for the other BASIC terms I've found that weren't listed...

TAN, PI, TO, IN (not in the same place as INT, INK or INVERSE), ACS, AT, two LNs, a second appearance of ABS, and... REG from Next BASIC, SET from Microsoft BASIC as used on the MSX and Dragon 32. Also, GATE, TARE, ALOE, FIT, FLUE, PSYFIRE (sounds like a good game, that...) ...and ARSE.

ALERT: finished the Criss Cross, and there's a clue missing: _ H _ _ _ _ R _ D which I thought might be a mis-spelling of "SNOOKERED" but that fits elsewhere.

Green Bert! Marvelous.

Also, Green Bert wears a blue cap, and feels guilt about his actions. He will experience extreme PTSD after the conflict, but work through it to entirely re-establish broken family ties. Starring Tom Holland.

The original on the left, in contrast, wears a green hat and suppresses any possible guilt with drugs and alcohol. He dies of a Mescaline overdose a decade after the events of the game. Starring Mickey Rourke.
