Note. This run on MS Windows
This collection is dedicated to the thirtieth anniversary of the release of the first Russian quest "The Adventures of Buratino (Pinocchio)" in 1993. It includes a remastering of the original game and a sequel called "The New Secret of Pinocchio".

The game "The New Secret of Pinocchio" is a continuation of the well-known fairy tale. Now Pinocchio must save the theater "Lightning", help his friends and resist the intrigues of the insidious Fire Eater (also known as Karabas-Barabas).

Some backstory for people not so well versed in Russian games and in Russian culture generally.

This is a work of Vyacheslav Mednonogov, a famous Russian programmer who created in the 90s such megagames as Black Raven or UFO:

His nick Copper Feet is actually a translation of his real last name ;)

Good to see the old master working back on games, unfortunately not directly on Zx Spectrum although in the very Spectrum style.

And Buratino/Pinocchio thing is explained here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buratino

Buratino is a character very heavily inspired by Pinocchio. Some people would say he IS Pinocchio, some would say he's a plagiarism of Pinocchio ;)
Anyway most of children in Russia don't know Pinocchio, they know Buratino.

I'd say it is re-work for eastern culture. Something like nowadays we can find new Little mermaid.

Not only Russia, but nearly all ex-USSR. I think, back in time we read Buratino book in school.
Additionally, there is a soviet cartoon with very well done animation

And movie with a songs that became legendary between kids.
