Haven't been there in a while, but last thing I knew Reddit's r/CasualUK subreddit used the original picture as their page theme. Didn't recognise it until the attributes loaded but had a good laugh once I did.

Brilliant.

This was part of the Woot Tape Mag 2019, but it really deserves its own ID, so I've created one. Here's a temporary download link for Andy Jenkinson's Auld Loading Time demo.

It's music, lyrics and border effects, and it's so technically and artistically perfect, that when I hear it at this time of year, it makes my eyes wetten a little. Seriously, if you haven't seen it yet, please download and give it a go.

@uglifruit It was originally sent as asm and embedded in the mag, so I added a BASIC loader with autostart for this. If you want to change anything let me know.

2024 will mark the 40th anniversary of my acquaintance with the Spectrum. On some day in January 1984, a 10-and-a-half years old Sicilian boy was touching the rubber keyboard of a 16K Spectrum for the first time... and 40 years later, he is creating games for it :dance
