Backing up Tapes using the zx next

Post by pmack »

Hello ll

I understand how to create snapshots from a game loaded from tape, but is there a way to actually backup / dump the tape to a file (tap or tzx) when loading it to the Next?

Thanks

There is TAPE2TAP app. Haven't used it myself, though.

Also, what about using any tape copying app from the 80s/90s and sending its output to a file? If app uses ROM routines for saving, that should work.

Yeah, I know these old programs work fairly well. I was thinking about some easier process facilitated by the Zx Spec Next. Snapshots are super easy and useful, but I wish there was a simple process to save the data in its original format.
