I just watched Seb's interesting video here...
I had no idea there was a Codemasters Spectrum release that was 'genuinely' unavailable anywhere online.
It was on the Super Sports Challenge compilation. My question is, is the game denied, or actually MIA? It seems very unusual for a preserved game to not to found anywhere online, which makes me think the Compilation it is on may not be preserved.
Slicks (Codemasters) - MIA or just Denied?
Re: Slicks (Codemasters) - MIA or just Denied?
Good find, I never knew that Slicks was converted to the Spectrum! It’s a weird one, the Supersports Challenge (https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/1 ... _Challenge) compilation was reviewed in 1993, but only in YS (was it the only Speccy mag at this time?) . The compilation is marked as MIA and there’s no box scans, which makes me think it wasn’t released.
All but two games were re-releases, Slicks and Cue Boy. BUT Cue Boy does have an entry on here and it looks like it’s available (but denied)
https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/9 ... um/Cue_Boy
That got 90% in the YS Supersports Challenge review, so it is a decent game.
There’s absolutely no files for Slicks, not even any screens. So the strange thing is - was Supersports Challenge genuinely released, but nobody has bothered to upload Slicks because it didn’t review that well (only 74% in the same compilation). Or was Supersports Challenge never released, but somehow Cueboy has made it out?
Very strange!
