Devfinitive Edition (David Jones): vote
Yeah, I know not everyone will be happy at how the 48/128 versions of Magic Knight games are being represented, and if I treated them 'as one' there still wouldn't be overall satisfaction - I think that'd be worse. This is the way I think it should be, it's certainly not without its faults.
So, here we go, a poll where the likes of Type Rope, The Fourth Protocol and Bonkers aren't likely to get much of a look in...

Difficult one for me to pick.
So after some thought , I decided the first one I purchased which I was also able to complete without help was the one to go for.

Finders Keepers got way more play time (completed it many times) from me.
Spellbound, Knight Time, Stormbringer, these just didn't have the same fun for me. Getting stuck quite easy, dying quite easy.
So no proportionals, just Finders Keepers all the way.

I don't have anything cool to put here, so i'll just be off now to see a priest with yeast stuck between his teeth and his friend called Keith who's a hairpiece thief...

Re: Devfinitive Edition (David Jones): vote
1. Finders Keepers. The reason is probably because I've completed this one first.
2. Knight Tyme. I also completed this one. Really nice. Also because of the colour clashing.
3. 4th Protocol. I still have to play this one, but I forgot the name.
That doesn't mean that Spellbound and Stormbringer are bad. It's just unfair to only able to choose 3 out of these. In any other poll they would have been a top 3.

I loved Finders Keepers, but found Spellbound a bit too hard. Just kept dying of lethargy, hunger, or something else.
Never played Fourth Protocol, feel like I should read the book first.
Has anyone made a 'definitely not Bonkers' joke yet?

You'll go stonkers with Bonkers?
Anyway...
1. Spellbound 128K
2. Knight Tyme 128K
3. Stormbringer 128K
I played them all on the Amstrad CPC back in the day but they look basically the same on the Spectrum. Finders Keepers is fine, but I preferred the balance of mostly adventure with only small sections of twitch gaming in the others.

Special mention to the unbelievable tune in Stormbringer 128K. Right up there with C64's Monty On The Run as one of the best 8-bit chip tunes of all-time IMO.

3. Finders Keepers
Knight Tyme shades it over Stormbringer by way of being able to move the ship and interact with the various planets. As much as I enjoy Finders Keepers I've always found the jumping awkward.

1. Knight Tyme 128
2. Spellbound 128
3. Finders Keepers
Knight Tyme wins over Spellbound because its fun moving the spaceship around and investigating other planets. And the other characters habit in Spellbound of dieing was too annoying. Thor would go into a sulk which he couldn't be tickled out of, and would die of depression. I mean, its something, but it doesn't make for a fun game.
I didn't get Stormbringer. It felt like the author's enthusiam was gone and he threw any old thing in there.
Finders Keepers is redeemed by finding and trading objects. Without the its a rubbish platform game, even Jason's Gem is better.
Special mention as well that the 128K games did feel special as 128K games, rather than just with an extra tune or removal of multi-load.

Re: Devfinitive Edition (David Jones): vote
Knight Tyme 128K has got this, with eight votes!
In joint second place, with five votes each: Finders Keepers and Spellbound.
Spellbound 128K gains four votes to be third.
And now, something outside of the Magic Knight series and indeed, outside of Mastertronic - The Fourth Protocol is in... fourth (Ha! - Ed) place, thanks to three votes.
Finally, Stormbringer 128K and Type-Rope have gained one vote each to be in joint fifth place.
Can't believe nobody went for Finders Keepers 128K. (Er... -Ed)
Here are the proportional results:
Knight Tyme 128K by Mastertronic Added Dimension 15
Finders Keepers by Masterstronic 11
Stormbringer 128K by Mastertronic Added Dimension 7
Spellbound 128K by Mastertronic Added Dimension 6
Knight Tyme by Mastertronic Added Dimension 3
Spellbound by Mastertronic Added Dimension 3
Type-Rope by Mastertronic 2
Fourth Protocol, The by Hutchinson Computer 1
