I wonder why Gavin Wade and Drew Northcott are listed there? Northcott was a loading screen artists, but not sure about Wade. The loading screen is signed PIP+PAVL to make things more confusing.
I can track those names from the old WOS, so, they were there for a while.

Re: Additional credit for Flying Shark
I think you have found Kieren Hawken's brother!Gears of Games wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 1:04 pm Yeah, was wondering about those two as well. Couldn't find any further info, but only had a quick look...
Gavin Wade, who has listed being part of a lot of (cancelled) games on his softography is who I think Steve Turner refers to as "the washout" in his blog.
He should probably be removed from Flying Shark and possibly more titles.
A snippet from the softography:
Rock ‘n Roll [LD]- Sinclair Spectrum, Amstrad 6128
Gemini Wings [LD]- Sinclair Spectrum, Amstrad 6128, CBM 64
Butcher Hill [PR]- Sinclair Spectrum, Amstrad 6128
Captain Blood [PR]- Sinclair Spectrum, Amstrad 6128
Ferrari Formula 1 [PR]- Sinclair Spectrum, Amstrad 6128
Battlefield [LD/DS]- Sinclair Spectrum
Plasma Ball [LD/DS]- Sinclair Spectrum
Silkworm [LD] – Sinclair Spectrum (Technical Prototype – better than released version!)
Hawkeye [LD] – Sinclair Spectrum (Never released because Thalamus boss was annoyed with being ‘got out of the shower’).
Hellfire Attack [LD/DS]- Sinclair Spectrum, Atari ST, CBM Amiga
Time Scanner [PR]- Sinclair Spectrum, Amstrad 6128 (Cancelled)
Flying Shark [PR]- Sinclair Spectrum, Amstrad 6128 (Cancelled)
Victory Road [PR]- Sinclair Spectrum, Amstrad 6128 (Cancelled)
<Other forgotten about Automata UK games> [PR]- Sinclair Spectrum
Pi There! [PR/DS] – Sinclair Spectrum
Pi in the Sky [LD/DS]- Sinclair Spectrum
The Egg [PR]- Sinclair Spectrum
LD = Lead Programmer, PR = Programmer, PD = Producer, AP=Associate Producer, DS = Designer
Re: Additional credit for Flying Shark
And imagine my surprise while googling for more info on who was behind Imagitec Design to run into this interview, conducted by none other than Kieren Hawken... what are the odds?!?
Re: Additional credit for Flying Shark
And the wash out referenced by Mr T on Flying Shark was someone else - my apologies - see another of Steve's blogs.
Re: Additional credit for Flying Shark
Thanks! I'm going to try and create a proper ZX Spectrum list based on that page and other sources I can find, I hate to remove information from the database, you never know why authors are assigned to a particular title, might be the case at some point someone got some insight inside the projects.
Re: Additional credit for Flying Shark
I agree, although in this case the information was added without citing any source - see https://worldofspectrum.org/forums/discussion/54248/druellan wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2024 1:33 pm Thanks! Got it. I'm going to use that post to also corroborate roles.Stefan wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2024 3:06 pm I agree, although in this case the information was added without citing any source - see https://worldofspectrum.org/forums/discussion/54248/
Re: Gavin Wade Credits
I'm taking a look at other games with Gavin Wade listed, and I think he was added based on the list above (viewtopic.php?p=138838#p138838), but looking at the games, what I see is that on many he is not mentioned in the ZX Spectrum version, but in other platforms like Amstrad.
For example, in Butcher Hill (https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/7 ... tcher_Hill) he is mentioned in the Amstrad version:
But not in the ZX Spectrum version:
In other cases like Flying Shark, in the list, the game is listed as cancelled
So far those are the titles I have as candidates for removal
- Flying Shark https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/1 ... ying_Shark (he is not mentioned in the credits)
- Butcher Hill https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/7 ... tcher_Hill (he worked in the Amstrad version, but he is absent in the ZX Spectrum version)
- Victory Road https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/5 ... ctory_Road (Paradise Software is David Shea's company)

It is not clear if the Amstrad 6128 is the cancelled version, but we know he worked on some prototypes that got abandoned, so might be what is going on here.Flying Shark [PR]- Sinclair Spectrum, Amstrad 6128 (Cancelled)

Re: Additional credit for Flying Shark
Gennady Demidenko is the editor of Legends Of Bytes, a magazine specialized in classic game developers. Therefore this kind of information from him is quite reliable.Stefan wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2024 3:06 pm I agree, although in this case the information was added without citing any source - see https://worldofspectrum.org/forums/discussion/54248/
Although it's possible some of these credits refer to other platforms.
