Maybe someone who bought two exemplars with the purpose of selling one at a higher price, who knows.

Does anyone know when the accelerated Nexts will be shipped?

Scalpers be scalpin'...no surprises there. Bit sad, but that's the deal with all these things.
(That first one had a "dead relative" explanation, okay, but I don't suppose they all have such a story ready...)

What do you mean? Like FOR/NEXT? How could you not have that?

The basic is extended and includes things like repeat/until, while and procs. The syntax is a little odd for repeat/until but I'm sure garry had a good reason for it.

I think it was WHILE loops that looked most odd to me.

This. Instead of the generally used/accepted WHILE/WEND and REPEAT/UNTIL it uses REPEAT/REPEAT UNTIL and uses WHILE as a breakout condition inside the loop. It's very, very weird.

I do like the new keyboard layout, with an inverted "T" of arrow keys to the right of the space bar and a line of punctuation keys to the left. That seems much nicer. :)

The delete and the break keys are in better places as well :D

Only snag is getting used to the different locations

I see what you mean!

I never had a "+" or a Toastrack, so I didn't notice the other changes. Comparing the Toastrack, old Next and new Next, all of the "special" keys added to the left-hand side seem to have been reorganised. It seems a much better layout now, though.

Is there any official way to know if our item has been shipped?

And I mean something like a feature of Kickstarter itself.

I backed "Just the Board" and "ZX Spectrum Next Plus", and reported that in the Survey back in May 26 2017.
But apparently there is no way to know if the thing as shipped, although it should have been, since all the plus have been shipped according to the reports.

You get a shipment notification email when it is shipped. All base model Nexts have shipped, and all the emails have gone out for those.

37 of those emails got rejected by the recipients’ email servers, and the team is trying to manually contact those people by other laboriously manual means.

A very many other emails will have gone straight into spam folders in the backers‘ email clients. There have been reports that this happened even when some backers pre-whitelisted the sending address, because several popular email clients and hosted solutions out there are, well, pretty crap.

The best thing for you to do if you’re missing a base model email is confirm which email address your Kickstarter account is linked to check your spam folders for that account, and then email [email protected] with an enquiry about your base model.

NO emails have gone out for the Plus or Accelerated models yet, as they HAVEN’T yet shipped, despite what you read. However it is expected that the Pluses will start shipping in the next day or so - perhaps in van-sized batches, so you may not get notified immediately if yours is not in the first batch to go.

Mine is a plus, so it's still waiting to be sent.

Thanks for the info.

Saw one on my local auction site and I had a quick look on ebay, there are few live ones as well. Seems the reselling wave is going on strong, with prices around 500~600 quid. I suppose there was a knock-on effect, with some folks who initially did not intend on selling now not being able to resist these wild valuations.

It's a bit sad, but that's one of the modern side effects of this hobby. I only hope it won't affect the price of the units in the next Kickstarter.

Same here.

For everyone that has theirs already: what was the first thing you tried/played/used it for?

I played with setting the video up, did not know what I was doing, so ended up with a blank HMDI screen :(
Was thinking, have I just bricked it in less than 30 seconds

So had to read the manual....

Having sorted that issue out, I then played with NextBASIC including the new screen modes (not that they are called that...).

Then I explored the files on the SD card and had a play with some of the games... :D

Congratulations! Mine arrived yesterday - I'm just admiring the perfect Rick design up to now. I'll fire it up this weekend. But first things first: I altered my signature!
