I will update the credits in ZXDB. Thanks for pointing this out!

Challenge:

Can you recognize any other "stolen" graphic in this loading screen that I failed to list under "adapted from" here?

Am I stuck in a time-loop or is this entire thread a repeat of a previous one? :?

The CCS game Vulcan was the highlight of traditional wargames on the Spectrum (Admittedly a limited field, unlike the C64).

But that was definitely ripped off by other games from the same publisher, none of which had the same polish. (Or indeed, Polish).

Both Crete 1941 and Invasion Force use a similar engine, but the end result is not the same.

The Gary Lineker face in that loading screen reminds me more of Neville than of Oz though :D

Shame they never made a game for OFAH, but if it had been as much "quality" as the AufPet game, probably all for the better.

All Geordies look the same to Germans I expect ;)

Auf Wiedersehen, Pet was a lot better than Only Fools and Horses anyway (although that had some moments but is incredibly dated and they went on too long with the Christmas specials and whatnot).

RIP (many many years ago) to the German foreman from Auf Wiedersehen who not only played Mr. Bronson in Grange Hill but also Adolf in Indiana Jones and the last crusade :( I think he spoke fluent German though and I think he was a German teacher in Grange Hill?

EDIT: I finished (old style before they ruined it) Duolingo in German which I started after over 6 months of living there (great place of course, far better than the UK). So: Ja, Ich habe eine gute Krankenversicherung, danke.

EDIT2: That doesn't mean I know enough German to have a conversation with anyone of course, Duolingo sucks ;)

EDIT3:And when I worked with a proper Geordie years ago I couldn't understand what he was saying either but they don't do Duolingo for Geordie, sadly :)

Michael Sheard, I think his name was.

We all rather enjoyed Auf Wiedersehen Pet. Being from just south of Birmingham, it amused us that Barry eventually ended up in Droitwich.

I also married a Geordie. You can imagine what family get togethers are like!

Thats the one. Legend!

Uboat captain in Raiders Of The Lost Ark, and Hitler himself in Last Crusade.
Admiral Ozzel in Empire Strikes Back.
And most of all, Mr Bronson in Grange Hill.

He seems to have played a Hitler character five times in his career. Probably why all Brits of a certain age still remember Mr Bronson with such terror. He also often attended Star Wars conventions, and would let attendees force choke him to death, just like in the film. Top bloke, not at all like this characters.

Such an unforgettable character. I still do impressions of him today. As a kid I found him terrifying and I think we all wished there were no strict teachers like that. However, today, living in this bland modern world, I desperately miss the presence of stern, angry older men who commanded respect, authority and discipline. Society feels so lost without them. Why aren't older men angry with youngsters any more?

I would say Heartland (the skull and the book appear in the top of the screen when playing) but I'm not sure if the Ghostbusters logo is original.
