Some 'interesting' choices made in the typography there :? - doesn't look like anyone ever stole it for a Spectrum game, at least.

Actually passed it on the road last week, though this is the best and only image I can find on the internet. My wife thought I was having a spasm as I started burbling with excitement at the oncoming truck.

Look at the name on the red banner above the cab...

Eddie Stobart is a haulage company in the UK. It has many lorries, all painted the same simple olive green colour. You will always see and recognise at least one on any motorway journey.

That lorry in the photo is a fancy white pimped up lorry, not at all an Eddie Stobart one.

The company that owns that lorry is Harry Price And Sons. Harry S Price is a famous, er, developer on the Spectrum with many games to his credit. The catch is those games were generally someone else's work which he took and modified the graphics, text, sound etc. It was then released to commercial gain.

So that the lorry in the photo has Harry Price written on it, taken out of context, suggests that the lorry belonged to someone else but was repainted and modified to look different. The horn probably sounds different too.

Tnks, I don't knew this story, I see, almost all his titles are categorized as "Mod".

I wonder if anyone could make a spoof where Thomas is, in fact the engine mounted in a tank (a Sherman, a Crusader, a T-72... you know).

It must be a measure of how little regard Load is held in - even more than a quarter of a century after its release - that it took 30 pages of this thread to come up with that reference. For the record, The House Jack Built is one of the tracks that made it onto my heavily-cut-down compilation of Metallica's two late-1990s oddities, at the expense of three or four of those that were released as singles, and which the band presumably thought were the highlights.

Also possible that no-one had heard of the game in question ( a type-in! From SU! ).

There's a much more high profile game that was a commercial release from Thor software with almost the same name:

https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/2 ... Jack_Built

That said, I'd think that most of us were so traumatized by Jack and the Beanstalk that we never made it to the sequels.

As for Metallica, I thought they went straight from the Black Album to Garage Inc. with nothing in between.

Wow, talk about an awkward cover ... they sure couldn't have picked a better shot than this kid who looks almost like it's crying?
