The Hunt for Red October - Based on the Book was reviewed in Crash #50.
The Hunt for Red October - Based on the Movie was reviewed in Crash #89.
ZXSR currently associates both reviews with the former title.

This was reported in the bugs thread in February 2021 and marked as "reviewed". The re-release by Unique is also still wrong!Vampyre wrote: ↑Thu Jul 07, 2022 9:49 amThank you. That's ZXDB, not ZXSR.StooB wrote: ↑Thu Jul 07, 2022 10:06 amThis was reported in the bugs thread in February 2021 and marked as "reviewed". The re-release by Unique is also still wrong!

Re: ZXSR bugs
Unfortunately there's a considerable delay between a post being marked as "reviewed", and this change appearing online.StooB wrote: ↑Thu Jul 07, 2022 10:06 am This was reported in the bugs thread in February 2021 and marked as "reviewed".
Usually Dario marks a post as "reviewed" when he adds a fix to a SQL file. Then it takes about 2 weeks for him to send me his file, another week for me to release a new ZXDB containing this fix, a couple more days for Peter to update this site.
About this point... are you sure?
The image that appears in the Unique inlay is obviously from the Book version. However Unique added the Paramount logo and copyright in this inlay, thus implying it's actually the Movie version.
Re: ZXSR bugs
As well as the artwork, the screenshots and the text describing it as a "highly accurate simulation" on the Unique inlay are the same as the Book version. The "Movie" version of the game is an arcade game not a simulation.Einar Saukas wrote: ↑Thu Jul 07, 2022 3:30 pmAbout this point... are you sure?

It has the Paramount logo and copyright because Paramount were the current holders of the licence at the time the Unique release was published.
HoL also lists the Unique release as the Book version.

Re: ZXSR bugs
JetPac's average score isn't taking the review scores from C&VG and ZX Computing (both 90%) into account for it's average score, leaving the average to be based solely on a 60% 1987 re-release score from Sinclair User.
These two scores aren't listed against the review entries in the Magazine Reviews section, but they do show in the ZXSR entry.

Re: ZXSR bugs
Each of those 2 reviews give several scores to different aspects (value, playability, lasting appeal, etc) but none of these aspects is an overall score.
Since average score is calculated from each review's overall score, they were not included in the calculation.
Re: ZXSR bugs
Yes, it's rather annoying that some of the early issues of magazines either didn't have any scores at all (it was some time before SU introduced the Gilbert Factor) or, even more annoyingly IMO, they had several scores but no Overall. Then you have the tremendously irritating Your Spectrum that would give three Overall scores for each reviewer.
I gave some thought to those that have none by plucking out what I think would be the most important scores and averaging them to generate a spoof Overall (back when the ZXSR site wasn't just an API). Not like Crash did in their first 18 months or so - averaging all the scores, which resulted in some criminally underrated titles (poor graphics was an instant Overall score killer). Playability, Addictiveness and Value (where available) were the three I was thinking of averaging but there's argument for each to be included/excluded, and that's if the magazine at the time even had them or a version of them.
Even Manic Miner only had two Overalls given to it. Personal Computer News rated it 5/5 and Crash (in a much later re-review) 92%. I think we've had a discussion on here before of whether later re-reviews or re-releases should be included in the average score.
It's annoying that something like Jetpac is only 60% or 6/10 average review score but unfortunately it is what it is.

Re: ZXSR bugs
I suppose I would be tempted to average value and playability where there isn't an overall score
It's interesting that the C&VGs review of 48K Elite gave it 9/10 for sound - which is clearly nothing special.
Mind you Crash mentions a nice tune after loading - I'm pretty sure there isn't any music!

Re: ZXSR bugs
Category "value" usually means "value for money" i.e if it's a fair price in comparison to whatever is offered. I assume that's the least relevant criteria nowadays.
It's too tricky to invent an overall score when there's none...

Also the review in Crash #2 should be page 67 instead of 66.PeterJ wrote: ↑Fri Aug 12, 2022 7:36 pm The Type-In from ZX Computing called Pharaoh's Tomb has the magazine references for the game of the same title by Phipps Associates.

Re: ZXSR bugs
Could someone explain on how/why they came with the "Je Eerste Stappen met Mr. Men: De Hoeden van Meneer Malloot" for the re-release by Wolters Software (Netherlands)? It is very odd.
If you look at/on the front cover it actually says "Je Eerst stappen met...Herkenen van vorm, kleuren en letters.
