ZXSR bugs
Please use this thread to report any bugs related to the integration between ZXSR and ZXDB!
Re: ZXSR bugs
I was going to put this into the ZXSR Integration Announcement thread but it makes much more sense here.
As Einar said in that thread, ZXSR is fairly accurate but there are going to be some mistakes. There's a single person who's built this data from day one - myself - and mistakes are going to happen without scrutiny from others. So please highlight what you find and I'll put things right. They won't be shown immediately in SC, I provide Einar with a version of the database periodically which he then imports. There can bee a gap of several weeks/months.
I would say that the vast, vast majority of reviews are going to be allocated to the correct magazine issue - but there are bound to be some that are incorrect. Similarly some may be tagged to the wrong title. These I would like to put right first.
Second, some scores may be incorrect, so these are the next port of call. I am careful with these but with the best will in the world I'm not going to get it right 100% of the time.
Thirdly - spelling mistakes, incorrect words or total garbage. There are going to be quite a number of these (spelling especially), particularly in the Crash reviews (which were the first reviews added). Originally I was using my own OCR software and its results were hit and miss to say the least. I didn't even put these through a spell checker so there's going to be a number of spelling mistakes. Over the years I've refined my procedures (including a spell checker and KenD's awesome OCR PDFs) so things should be much better. But some will have crept through.
So please just drop anything you spot into this thread and I'll get them fixed. Cheers!

Re: ZXSR bugs
I've found something interesting. I'm trying to fix this report: viewtopic.php?p=28971#p28971
I can confirm that the review for Elephant Antics on Crash #91 page 65 is incorrect: https://archive.org/stream/crash-magazi ... 5/mode/1up
But we have information about it from the ZXSR:
Perhaps the review exists but on a different magazine?

Re: ZXSR bugs
An old version of ZXSR incorrectly "mixed" information about CJ's Elephant Antics review from Crash #91 page 56 and CJ's American Antics review from Crash #93 page 65.druellan wrote: ↑Sat Sep 19, 2020 4:14 am I've found something interesting. This information was later fixed in ZXSR. However I had already imported it earlier, so it's still wrong in ZXDB. I'm fixing it now.

Re: ZXSR bugs
The reviews for Scooby Doo seem to have been carried over to those for Panic. This leads to a curious consequence: 10 reviews and three awards listed in the entry for Panic.

The page says it got 91% by SU, which I thought sounded a bit strange. The link takes you to a review of Rodland, which by no co-incidence also got 91%.

The reviews here refer to Mutant Monty (id 3339), not Mutant Monty and the Temple of Doom (id 12637)

The 1991 review in Sinclair User scoring 81% is actually for Viz.
Re: ZXSR bugs
Thanks for these guys - they've been corrected and will be present in the next version of ZXSR.
Also - I'm still going through the CSV comparison file that Einar sent a while back. That's highlighted plenty of errors in both ZXSR and ZXDB which are being corrected in ZXSR (and noted for cross-reference with ZXDB later). It's rather a huge undertaking and I'm also coupling this with a sweep through all of the magazines - so it's going to be a good while yet.

Re: ZXSR bugs
The following game IDs were removed from ZXDB, because they were duplicates of other existing entries:
10675 -> duplicate of 5106
12197 -> duplicate of 11417
15920 -> duplicate of 9914
26392 -> duplicate of 5007
These game IDs need to be changed in ZXSR too.

sho wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 8:17 pm The Crash review for Whodunnit links both to the C.C.S and Mastertronic version. It is for the C.C.S. version.
ZXSR then incorrectly links the review to Mastertonic's version

Re: ZXSR bugs
There is a "Travel with Trashman" review (Crash #11) that contains the word "beeriest" instead of "beerfest". (I haven't checked the original magazine in case of a source typo.) "Germany sees Trashie clearing away empties at the beeriest..."

Cricket Captain by D&H has two reviews from 1984 that should be on Cricket Captain by Allanson Computing.
