Here's something that crossed my mind while writing the review of Battle From Below, which Jbizzel wrote using AGDx Mini. Exactly how many variants of AGD are there, and what are the essential differences between them? I know of AGD, AGDx, AGDx Mini and... there are probably more. Should we include PGD in there as well? When I saw Battle From Below I thought AGDX Mini might be a replacement of sorts for PGD, which was used for Manic Muslim and (non-CGC) rEdIvIvUs, from 2005 and 2006 respectively, so I doubt that's been used for anything for quite a while. (Although, saying that, if anyone wants to write Manic Muslim II, or some other kind of PGD-based follow-up, just for the old-school Extra Crap Points, I encourage it.)
So, AGD experts, how many variants are there, and what are the differences?

There is also the new (ish) software from Jonathan that runs on PCs. Multi Platform Arcade Game Designer.

Also, another one which I had not heard of before and not updated since 2019.

Re: AGD and its variants
there are loads of versions and flavors of AGDx
I think Alan makes different versions of specific purposes - with different options.
I cant find anything documented about his version control system, but on my PC I have a bout 3 versions on the AGDx mini, and 3 versions of AGDx.
its a little baffling to me! lol

Re: AGD and its variants
Yes, it is indeed very confusing, in particular as far as AGDx concerned. I once suggested to Allan that an overview of what version supports what would make things more clear and inviting to use.
As far as I know, AGD Studio is dead.
Regarding Jonathan's creations, he also once made SEUD, Shoot Em Up Designer with which some enthusiasts are still making some very nice games, such as Pi-Dentity (released), Down The Pipe (in dev), Super Hair (in dev).
SEUD has some quirks but its a nice tool with which a base game can be made. The rest is done with assembly.

Re: AGD and its variants
Is there an actual 32bit version of AGD Studio (https://github.com/tonyt73/AGD-Studio) ?
All the 32bit versions have 64bit CompilerZX.exe files and won't run on Linux Wine.
