3D engine

Post by Alone Coder »

I've fixed a couple of bugs in my 3D engine from Info Guide #12, and also added colour for ATM-Turbo 2.

Info Guide #13 (Russian version) is out: http://alonecoder.nedopc.com/zx/books/IG13.zip
English version will be available later (there is a lack of translators).
Dragon's Lord made a new map for this 3D engine, see inside:

I tried the 3D engine and it looks really great. It's been a long time since the last good Spectrum vector graphic game, so I hope someone will use it. Only the fuzzy graphics during movements look a bit confusing to me.

The version "elite_0_06_alpha_14MHz_Evo.scl" has solid picture. However, the viewers voted for 7 MHz version to include in the TRD. There is also a 3.5 MHz version without background and with short view range (the author was inspired by Cholo game :)).

It's OK, I like it. In any case, probably it depends on a game type, which version of the 3D engine is the most suitable. By the way, Cholo is a very nice game, but I always thought that its vector graphics could be better. So maybe this time. :)

Just tried Evo version with the ZX-Uno 14 Mhz and it works great, much better than the 7 Mhz version.
I would like this to become a complete game, a really impressive engine. :)
Well done.
